Harry Jacobs, RCO-LA/LB S

My first term as Rear Commodore Los Angeles/Long Beach-South will be devoted to supporting the Captains and District Staff Officers in my Group. Further, as District Staff Chief for Auxiliary Support, I plan to be involved in advancing the recruiting of new members and the retention of current members in the District to provide the Sectors with the personnel needed to serve the boating public and supplement our coastal defenses.

The uniform we wear represents a proud tradition and a worthy mission—serving the boating public and augmenting the coastal defenses of our Nation. As Auxiliarists, we represent a more experienced, more mature, and more diverse resource, within the Coast Guard, than other branches. We have an obligation and a duty to make those resources available to the Coast Guard.

As Americans, our way of life is being tested, again. As Americans, our will to persist is being tested, again. As Americans, our willingness to fight for the ideals we believe in is being tested, again. As Americans, our tolerance for others, who are culturally different from us, is being tested, again. As Americans, we must be ready, again. Are you ready?
